Tonight

Tonight, Rob, Chloe and I attended an engagement party for our friends, Jessica and Garrick. The real reason we were invited is because Chloe will be a flower girl in the wedding on April 4th, 2009. She is very excited and we believe she will be the most beautiful flower girl in Rock Hill, SC. Ok, well she is sharing the title with another little girl, Justina, but they will both be the cutest flower girls on April 4th. These are some photos from our evening and of the dresses they will be wearing.

Delimas...why?

Colin has started swim team practice this week. We get to try the team for 2 weeks for free and then will need to pay for a year of swimming. He enjoyed it, not a lot, but he really wants to try it for a year. I am all for it, however, I have been asked to coach the Junior division of 8 & under. I think the coach sees something in him and maybe Caleb because she has inquired a lot about their history with swimming and mine. I am so psyched about coaching, especially swimming, however, it would be for 1 hour a day from 4:30-5:30pm, plus weekend meets in town and out of town. Of course Rob is not home, I could get childcare for the kids, and we get a significant discount on the cost of participating...what to do...what to do...?

My kids came home this week with a note from school stating that they will no longer be able to sell ice cream at school due to a recent Healthy Eating law that President Obama passed. Now let's really think about this people...they are removing ice cream, that has to be bought by the elementary aged kids. Let's not talk about the soda and candy/chip machines in all the schools. Really? First of all, the parents would have to give their kids the money to buy the ice cream. So, parents, step it up in your children's eating habits if they really don't need ice cream. Also, why do we need the President of the United States to pass a law regarding this issue. I have really been struggling with healthy eating in our house. It is a shame that it costs more money to buy healthy food, this is the type of problem we are facing. Not ice cream in the schools.
